Your favorite thing about living in the Philadelphia Region:
Philadelphia is full of fun, passionate people who are pleasure to talk with and explore new ideas. Everyone takes pride in their ideas and in the ideas that originated here that changed the course of history.
Your favorite thing about working in the Philadelphia Region:
I get to work with some of the most innovative organizations that are changing entertainment, business, defense and education. This area is full of great companies that are solving problems both locally and around the world.
How would you market the Philadelphia Region to professionals outside the region?
The Internet provides a great way to network and spread your business outside of the region. I’ve found keeping in touch with friends and people you meet while traveling, as well as acting as an ambassador when abroad can help raise awareness of this region. I had to explain to someone in Italy that Philadelphia is known for more than just Rocky and cream cheese.
What advice would you give to young professionals trying to break into your industry?
Listen to what the needs of businesses are in your community and find creative ways to solve them. Take every opportunity to engage a potential employer or client in working towards a solution, which will improve your chances of landing a client or a job.
How has the technology industry in Philadelphia evolved in the past ten years?
Technology has allowed people to become a lot more mobile in the last ten years. This both causes new challenges and new opportunities for growth in the technology industry. Web based applications and solutions are still evolving, but will be one of the major factors in how we communicate and do business in the next ten years.
Immersion Technology builds and customizes rich Internet applications for businesses and entrepreneurs who are challenged with communicating information with customers, employees and prospects. They help business owners better understand their own organization and processes and help strengthen and streamline them through technology. Immersion Technology typically creates and customizes intranet applications, blogs, websites, e-commerce and flash applications.
