The Insider: Creative Footprint Report Available Next Week
The findings of Innovation Philadelphia's new study, Creative Footprint, will be available next Tuesday, January 22. The report measures the size, scope and impact of the for-profit, creative economy. Creative Footprint shows that creative industry employment within the Philadelphia Region generates a total annual economic impact of nearly $60 billion in total spending which includes $32.5 billion in total annual earnings and supports a total of 766,000 jobs - ranking the for-profit, creative industry among one of the top industries in the region.
Innovation Philadelphia has identified the following technology-driven, for-profit, creative industry sectors measured in the report:
- Architecture, Engineering and Planning
- Communications and Marketing
- Digital Media and Programming
- Fashion Design
- Graphic and Visual Arts and Multimedia Design
- Information Technology
- Interior and Industrial Design
- Music, Film and Video Production
- Photography
- Product and Merchandising Design
- Software Development

Entrepreneurs' Resource Guide Available
Since October 2007, over 1,500 copies of the Greater Philadelphia Entrepreneurs' Resource Guide have been distributed throughout the region. This easy-to-use Guide contains more than 280 regional resources with the following types of assistance: business, technical, creative industry, minority business, international business, economic development or investment capital. Feedback from entrepreneurs has been extremely positive. "This guide is exactly what I need to start my business in Philadelphia," said one local entrepreneur.
